The Plan of Salvation

Grace to You

In the busyness of our daily lives, we often find ourselves searching for answers about our health, finances, careers, families, and future. We pour time, energy, and resources into pursuing happiness and fulfillment here on earth. But how often do we pause to consider the ultimate question: where will we spend eternity? The good news of the cross is a message for everyone, regardless of circumstances or nationality—a message of hope and redemption for all people.

From a Wesleyan theological perspective, we affirm that God lovingly created each of us in His own image. He created us male and female, and He cherishes every one of us. However, humanity, through its free will, chose to turn away from God’s will and pursue its own path, resulting in separation from God. This turning away—our disobedience to God’s perfect will—is what the Bible calls sin.

In our natural state, we are all affected by this brokenness. As John Wesley taught, sin is not just the individual wrong things we do but also the condition of our hearts. This reality leaves us far from the holy and loving relationship with God for which we were created. Whether we see ourselves as "good" or "bad" by human standards, Scripture reminds us that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

Yet, the story does not end there.

In His boundless love, God has provided a way for us to be restored to Him. Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God offers us forgiveness, new life, and the hope of eternity with Him. This is grace—God’s unearned favor, offered freely to all. Wesleyans hold firmly to the belief that God’s grace is available to every person and calls us into a relationship of repentance, faith, and transformation.

No matter where you come from or what you have experienced, this message is for you. God invites you to experience His saving grace, to be reconciled to Him, and to become the person He created you to be. This is the gift of salvation: freely given but requiring our response of faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

As you reflect on your life and eternity, know that God’s grace is already at work in your heart, drawing you closer to Him. Today can be the day you take the next step in your journey with Christ. If you would like to know more, please email Pastor Matt.
